Step 1: Install EComposer for your Shopify store
- Add app at Shopify App store: EComposer Landing Page Builder
- In Shopify admin, to authorize the use of apps, click Install apps
Step 2: Start building Blog page
- Open EComposer: On your Shopify admin, go to the apps section then click on EComposer icon to open the app.
- From app dashboards, go to Blog pages
- Click manage Blog list on the right side
- Choose Create Blog list to start building Blog page
There are two ways to create templates which are creating your own templates by Ecomposer’s features and using EComposer’s templates.
Creating your own Blog page structure
- Click choose in Blank template
- Start building
- Choose the structure that you want, in the left sidebar, EComposer provides you various elements to create a most effective one.
Title: You can use it to display the title of your blog.
Article counts: The number of articles can be displayed using this feature.
Articles: Every article in your blog category will be displayed in this part.
Blog Tags: This component will assist you in viewing the tag so that readers can quickly search for your posts.
Using EComposer’s templates
There are a lot of eye-catching templates for you to choose a suitable one.
- You can click on Preview to see the examples first before deciding the template that you want to work on.
- 2 versions which are Pro (paid) and Free are available, click “Choose” on the selected template
- Click start building to create your Blog page
Step 3: Customize Blog page template
- Firstly, you can apply EComposer’s elements to customize the Blog page as you like. You just need to drag and drop these components into the desired locations.
- Secondly, you will design all the parts of the template according to your brand image, products and services. By clicking on the edit pen in each part, the editing section on the left sidebar will appear and it allows you to edit everything: layout, design and advanced.
Note: You have to change all the images for your Blog page to avoid copyrighted images from the template.
Step 4: Save and Publish
After completing the edit, click Publish at the top right corner.
On the Saving popup, you can see the “Assign for” options
- None: this option means that you just save the change, not apply for anything.
- Apply for all blogs (Overwrite theme template): you select this one to make all of your blogs use the EComposer Blog template. It will replace the default Shopify template.
- Apply for specific blogs: which implies that you will apply for various blogs you choose afterwards.
- Click Save and Publish to see the result.
How to restore to the Shopify default Blog template
Step 1: Click Blog Pages from the Dashboard.
Step 2: Click on the Manage Blog List
Step 3: In Shopify Blog list, click the Restore button.
How to remove Shopify Blog template
Step 1: Click Blog Pages from the Dashboard.
Step 2: Click on the Manage Blog List
Step 3: Select the template, then click the Remove button.
Note: remember to restore Shopify default blog list before delete Blog template
