Step 1: Add up your base expenses
It sums every cost of fulfilling one order: cost of goods (making or sourcing the item), shipping (what the carrier charges you), tax (duties or sales tax per product) and Shopify fees (transaction and card processing). The total is your break-even sale price: the lowest amount you can collect without losing money.

Step 2: Reverse the discount
It divides your break-even price by what remains after the discount. For a 20% discount, the break-even price is divided by 0.8. The result is the original price to show on your storefront.
