How many ways to save a page/template
On this page

EComposer gives you several ways to save, back up, and reuse your designs. You can save or publish your page, restore an earlier version, store pages and sections in your library, or export your design as a file. This guide walks you through each option.
1. Save or publish your page
Saving is the main way to keep your work. Saved pages are stored on the EComposer server, so you can open and keep editing them from any browser or device.
Step 1: In the EComposer editor, click Publish on the top toolbar.

Step 2: In the Save template window, click Save to save your changes without making them live. To make the page live, turn on the Publish toggle and click Save & publish.

Tip: You can also press Ctrl + S (or Cmd + S on Mac) to save quickly while you work.
2. Restore an earlier version from History
EComposer keeps a history of your page while you edit, so you can go back to an earlier version if something goes wrong.
Step 1: Click the History icon on the left sidebar.

Step 2: Choose the type of version you want to view:
Manual Save lists a version each time you click Save.
Auto Save lists versions that EComposer saves automatically about every 5 minutes while you edit.

Step 3: Hover over a version and click it to restore your page to that point.

Note: History versions are stored in the browser and on the device you used to edit the page. They cannot be restored from a different browser or device.
3. Save pages and sections to your library
Save a page or section to your library when you want to reuse the design on other pages or themes, without building it again from scratch.
Step 1: To save the whole page, click the Templates icon on the left sidebar and open the My templates tab. Then click Save my templates.

Step 2: Enter a name for your template and click Save.

Step 3: To save a single section, right-click the section label on the canvas and choose Save As Template. Enter a name for the section and click OK.

Step 4: All your saved pages and sections appear in Templates > My templates, ready to insert into any other page.
4. Export and import your design as a file
Export your design as an .ecom file to keep an offline backup or move it to another store, then import the file whenever you need it.
Step 1: Click the Settings icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of the editor.

Step 2: Select Export as file to download your design as an .ecom file.

Step 3: To use a saved file, select Import file and upload your .ecom file.

Note: Importing a file into an existing page will overwrite the current design. To avoid losing data, import the file into a blank page or template.
